Drawing portraits is the perfect field for experimentation for me. The confidence gained from understanding the principles of drawing a head combines with the uncertainty of using new materials and techniques. This creates the initial points from which I start exploring new paths in my creative practice.

This portrait sketch marks the return to my practice after a challenging period in the first half of 2025, when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. During his treatment, I devoted all my time and energy to supporting him, and my artistic work was on pause. It is the first portrait sketch I made after receiving the news of his remission.
